are you ready to drop secret love bombs?

love is the new religion - quote - brian piergrossi - author life coach spiritual teacher - desiree east I stumbled upon this gem recently, after getting side tracked from a link that my mother-in-law shared to me the other day  (Thanks Lynne!). I thought it was worth a share, and I hope it brightens your week. Welcome to the changing season, sending lots of love your way...

On the surface of the world right now there is war and Violence and things seem dark But calmly and quietly, at the same time, something else is happening underground An inner revolution is taking place and certain individuals are being called to a higher light It is a silent revolution From the inside out From the ground up

You won’t see us on the T.V. You won’t read about us in the newspaper You won’t hear about us on the radio

We don’t seek any glory We don’t wear any uniform We come in all shapes and sizes Colors and styles

Most of us work anonymously We are quietly working behind the scenes in every country and culture of the world Cities big and small, mountains and valleys, in farms and villages, tribes and remote islands

You could pass by one of us on the street and not even notice We go undercover We remain behind the scenes It is of no concern to us who takes the final credit But simply that the work gets done

Occasionally we spot each other in the street We give a quiet nod and continue on our way so no one will notice.

During the day many of us pretend we have normal jobs But behind the false storefront, at night is where the real work takes place

Some call us the ‘Conscious Army’ We are slowly creating a new world with the power of our minds and hearts We follow, with passion and joy Our orders from the Central Command The Spiritual Intelligence Agency

We are dropping soft, secret love bombs when no one is looking: Poems Hugs Music Photography Movies Kind words Smiles Meditation and prayer Dance Social activism Blogs Random acts of kindness

Our work is slow and meticulous Like the formation of mountains It is not even visible at first glance And yet with it entire tectonic plates shall be moved in the centuries to come

Love is the new religion of the 21st century

You don’t have to be a highly educated person Or have any exceptional knowledge to understand it It comes from the intelligence of the heart Embedded in the timeless evolutionary pulse of all human beings

Be the change you want to see in the world Nobody else can do it for you

We are now recruiting Perhaps you will join us Or already have. All are welcome… The door is open

~ Brian Piergrossi, (from the book The Big Glow)

Creativity, Transformation, and Re-birth

Hello Dear Creative Tribe! Just checking in with you, and I hope that the Spring/Summer seasons are greeting you with sunshine kisses and beautiful, floral blooms. I have been deep in creativity and transformation, myself, both metaphorically and literally, as I enter my third trimester as a mom-to-be. It's been very exciting, thrilling, emotional, and humbling, all at the same time. I can only imagine the roller-coaster of emotions I'll be experiencing once this little baby girl arrives. Whew!!

Here's a little video of what I've been up to and how you could work with me before I go on maternity leave. I've been wrapping things up and attempting to streamline things - and honestly, I wanted to DO IT ALL (for example, teach an elephant painting workshop, finally launch my Mastermind program, invite more peeps to private 1-on-1 VIP Zen Sessions, etc.), but who are we kidding?!

So, with my husband's encouragement and lovely advice from my Mastermind peers, I'm taking it easy and focusing my energy on this new bundle of joy that is coming into our lives this summer. My biz brain is giving into my baby brain, and I'm quite alright with that. Thanks for following along with me on my journey (especially, to those of you on Instagram and Facebook!). Your love and support means the world to me.

BUT, before I go, I'd like to invite you to one last painting party to celebrate the SOLSTICE, while we raise money for on-going relief efforts in Nepal. Please, click play to watch the video below.

one simple thing you could do to calm the {bleep} down

Draw a mandala.

Start at the center.

Use simple lines and shapes.

Work your way out.

And breathe...

I know what you're thinking, "Wow, Des, you must have a lot of time on your hands..."

Actually, I don't.

But, I make the time. To create. Because for me, it really is like breathing.

Zenning out on doodles and such is my go-to --- my escape from all the to-lists, the deadlines, the {fill-in-the-blank}, that makes life kinda nuts.

It calms me down. Clears my mind. And helps me get back to into focus.

And if you know me well, I'm all about zenning out.

Join me, will you?

DO YOU FIND SOMETHING AS SIMPLE AS DOODLING, ZENFUL? ARE YOU A SEASONED MANDALA ADDICT? WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU SIMPLY DOODLED? HOW DID YOU FEEL AFTERWARDS?

PLEASE JOIN ME FOR 'MANDALA MEDITATIONS: A 3-WEEK PAINTING JOURNEY'. YOU WILL CREATE MANDALAS SKETCHES AND PAINT YOUR VERY OWN PERSONAL MANDALA THAT IS BOTH BEAUTIFUL AND MEANINGFUL.  CLICK HERE TO REGISTER. HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE!

how do you keep your sanity?

Me?

1. make a cup of yogi tea. breathe.

2. read or watch something inspiring (or ask my husband to make me laugh).

3. create. write. journal.

4. exercise. surf. dance.

5. connect with nature.

Easier said than done, I know. But these are my simple little go-to's keep my sanity.

I bumped into a former colleague/teacher the other night at zumba (and yes, I said zumba. don't judge. it's so fun, and thee best work out - did you know you could burn up to 500-800 calories in one session?) She was telling me that zumba was her only moment of escape and sanity...totally agree. Cha, cha, cha.

And, you probably haven't heard from me, because we had a little string of days when the surf was epic. If I am M.I.A., I am most likely playing in the ocean. A little salt cleansing, if you will. Totally addicting.

So, the latest news from my side of the world: Winter is still here (which is usually a slow season for work). To my surprise, the work has been flowing in with the rain. I am fully booked with design work and coaching gigs...very exciting stuff! Life is good, I can't complain, I am forever grateful and feeling blessed.

But let's get real.

Sometimes, I can't breathe. And when I can't breathe, that's my body's way of telling me to slooooow down. To chill out.

So I listen. Or at least, I try.

We live in a world that is dominated by the monotonous day-to-day grind, grueling deadlines, scheduled appointments, be-there-or-be-square weekend commitments, following the Jones' program --- only to numb it out with reality television shows, reality drama of your own, alcohol, or the latest pharmaceutical miracle drug.

As of late, I've been hearing tales of 'unintentional' self-destruction...and, this is not to say, I've never been self-destructive before...we are all human, after all.

But it makes me think: why the drama?

How do you get from that stage, where you throw your hands in the air, and give into the chaos, and quietly go to the place of enlightenment, to respect what your body, mind, and soul is trying to tell you. (Because, we all secretly want to be enlightened - don't we?) Well, maybe not like the extreme Buddhist monk type of enlightenment or wanna-be yogi lifestyle --- but, a lighter life. An easier life.

To live simply (or, like that bumper sticker, to simply live).

Where you can breathe. Feel moments of peace and contentment.

If you could just spare 15 minutes to one-hour a day --- or even once a week --- to get this feeling, how would you spend that time? What small steps can you do to make it happen?

What would you do? What's stopping you?

What arrangements and small decisions can you make to allow yourself the time you deserve to just be?

Please, share in the comments below, for we can all learn from each other's wisdom...xo

i finished a painting marathon...whew!

Yay! I finished a painting marathon! Never thought I'd say that, but boy was it fun. That was about 3-1/2 weeks of painting straight. You can read more about how my painting adventure unravelled in these two posts:

Have You Ever Tried Painting, Marathon Style?

Totally Addicted

And tonight, I am prepping for an Art Show. I have lots to do, so I am going to leave it at that. If you live locally, I would love to see you and chat about how I can coach you through the next Painting Marathon. Crossing fingers that it doesn't rain, as I plan on doing some live painting demos and inviting YOU to help throw paint on the canvas!
