Hahnemühle Hemp Base Eco Paper uses one of the oldest and most diverse natural fibers in the world and is made of 60% hemp fiber. These plants require minimal maintenance, grow quickly and are free of pesticides when grown. Their rapid growth also means more cellulose can be produced on the same cropland than those that use other raw materials. They also require much less water, meaning they use fewer growing resources achieving a more environmentally friendly status.
This giclee paper’s base impresses with its bright white natural tone, and thanks to the bright white color of the hemp fibers, no optical brighteners are required.
Combined with a premium matte surface, the lightly textured surface gives the paper a pleasant, silky feel.
The acid- and lignin-free paper meets the most exacting requirements for age resistance. Hemp was an essential part of paper production for centuries, and due to its extremely robust fibers, it has often been used for long-lasting historical documents, such as the Gutenberg Bible and the US Declaration of Independence.
All fine art paper prints are printed with a method called, giclee printing. This is a technology that has evolved since the late 20th century to use primarily aqueous wide format printers with archival inks on archival media, ensuring your artwork will stand the test of time.
Art prints are custom trimmed with 2” border for framing. Frame not included. Exact sizing may vary slightly due to printing process, we advise waiting to buy frames until the prints arrive.

Your canvas print will be stretched and mounted over 1.5 inch thick (depth) stretcher bars.
For a truly refined and professional look, a canvas-like matte tape is carefully applied to the back, hiding the staples. A wire hanger is installed on the back approximately 2/3 of the way up from the bottom of the canvas. A picture hanger wall hook is included which allows you to easily hang your canvas on most dry walls. Two may be included for very large canvas prints.
