🔺ART vs ALGORITHM: For all my fellow alt-J lovers, soulful creatives, and mamas rising through it all…

This painting reel is set to ‘Intro’…a moody, layered track that always pulls something up from deep within me.

It’s not trending. But I freaking love this song.

And every time I create a reel, I feel that tug - Do I follow what’s “trending”, what’s popular?

Or do I choose what actually resonates with my spirit?

The lyrics speak to identity, performance, and perception...

And isn’t that something we all feel - especially in motherhood and creative work?

That tension between being seen and staying real.

Between sharing your gifts and not losing your self in the noise.

I saw alt-J live while my daughter was still in my belly. She must’ve felt the bass through my womb (I like to think she was dancing with me🥰). Now when I hear this song, I hear both of us. Our beginning. Our rhythm. How I gently remind her to stay true to herself.

This reel isn’t about “going viral.”

It’s about honoring the process.

Because that’s what art is.

That’s what life is.

Not the final product. Not the perfect feed.

But the process of showing up.

Of listening inward.

Of trusting your hands, your heart, your voice.

That’s why art journaling is such a sacred part of my self-care. It’s not about what it looks like. It’s about what it UNLOCKS✨🗝️.

It’s where I come back to me, without rules, without pressure, without filters (actually, Iied - I did use a filter for this one). Just paint, paper, presence… and truth.
