Creative Rituals TV: TIME LAPSE ACRYLIC PAINTING - From Concept to Creation | Bali Sunset Surf

Hello Dear Creative Soul,

In this episode of Creative Rituals TV, I share my creative process of going from concept to creation. As an artist and designer I've learned how to create systems that have worked for me to get my work out to the world. Whether it has been customized work for specific clients' needs or for the masses, transforming ideas from sketchbook to product is the difference between doing art for fun and being a professional.

All artists create the habit of capturing their ideas and how they see the world into personal journals and sketchbooks, and some of that artwork eventually comes into form and translates into a complete piece that is meant to be shared with the rest of the world. Whether it's for visual art, songwriting, a storyboard, a novel, for technology, you name it, all serious creatives carry a little handy notebook to capture these ideas that come from the ethers.

Today you'll get a peek of one of my travel journals while travelling in Bali, Indonesia and how I transformed a conceptual thumbnail sketch into a painting on a canvas using acrylic paints.

From there (which would be another process), I would transfer the artwork digitally to create giclée art prints, canvas prints, and other products that fans of my artwork could enjoy. And voilá, more ocean love to share with the world.

Are you a keeper of sketchbooks and journals? How often do your images and ideas translate into a complete piece of work? If you have any specific questions about this process, just comment below and let me know. Enjoy!! xo
