messy doodles, clear mind: how intuitive scribbling can calm your nervous system + unlock creative flow

What’s up with all the scribbling, you ask? The creative process (and healing in general) isn’t always perfect and pretty.

This is one of my favorite ways to move energy, especially when I’m feeling stuck, scattered, or like there’s just too much in my head. No fancy tools, no need for the “right” words… just pen to paper, and GO.

Fast. Messy. Intuitive.

We’ve known how to do this since we were toddlers. And still to this day, I have pages and pages of these soul scribbles, messy, raw intuitive marks in my journals. Some look like chaos. Some turn into full-on art. Just a big exhale for your nervous system.

This is also one of my favorite tools to help clients transmute anxious thoughts or heavy emotions, especially when they feel stuck or don’t have the words to explain what’s going on, and sometimes just for fun when the energy feels heavy.

And flashback…just me or whenever I hear this song it reminds me of that time in college when we played Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon alongside The Wizard of Oz (if you haven’t done that, google it…total trippy magic🦁✨).

Kinda like this process, unexpected, weirdly healing, and oddly perfect.

So yeah… next time your brain feels like it’s spinning or you’re heart feels heavy…

Scribble it out.
Let it get messy.
Let it speak.
And see what clarity comes through.

Sending massive love and creative healing your way✨
