WHAT IS THE IMPORTANCE OF TAKING THE STEPS OF FOLLOWING YOUR DREAMS FROM A PLACE OF LOVE VS. FEAR?
by TOVA PAYNE
On the path to building your dreams you will likely be confronted with challenges. The question to consider is: What is the importance of taking the steps of following your dreams from a place of love versus fear?
First, I want to talk about fear, and dismantle the myth that fear is a bad thing.
Fear is only negative if we label it as such. The truth is—fear, like any emotion, arises as a physical sensation in the body.
Since the sensation is uncomfortable, it tends to get labeled as undesirable. However, imagine releasing the negative charge associated with fear, and neutralizing fear down to what it is—a feeling.
The feeling of fear is often uncomfortable because it is a powerful energetic force that is outside of our comfort zone. But right there is the magic of fear. It is a powerful force, and if you choose to use its’ energy to DRIVE you to action, fear is a precious commodity to be used wisely when it strikes. And, it will strike.
Moreover, getting pushed outside your comfort zone is a healthy way to play with boundaries and learn where the real sweet spot of building your dreams reside.
Sometimes we limit ourselves into what we think we can create (also known as a limiting belief). This is why stretching the boundary of comfort can lead us to a bigger possibility than we ever knew existed. This is a good thing, and this is what will help your dream grow beyond your wildest expectations.
Now, moving onto love, love is the necessary fire to stay committed to your dream.
For creations to be powerful, they must come from a place of love, because this is where passion comes from. When you are out of love with your project, it’s a signal to let go of the project and move onwards to the thing you are passionate about.
Sometimes we start off a project that we think is our dream. Until you take action on your dream you won’t know if it is in fact the dream you thought it would be. The moment you take action, you will receive feedback.
By feedback I mean, whether the project is taking off with ease or a few challenges to navigate around, there will be an underlying feeling of love and passion or a groggy heaviness—where you’re lacking the passion you thought you’d feel.
You see, love acts as a barometer—letting you know when to stay committed to your project, and when to move on. Love will tell you if this project is your dream after all.
So you need love to stay committed to your dream. And fear—when used consciously, is a powerful force to help us keep taking action. Fear is only negative if we allow the uncomfortable feeling of fear to sabotage the dream project that we are in love with.
Remember, you always have a choice, and this is ultimately what will determine whether you follow through on your dream. Choose to use the powerful forces of love and fear to help you keep going for YOUR dreams.
