5 benefits of starting a creative wellness practice

What’s your favorite way to engage with your inner artist? I believe that having a creative practice can benefit both children AND adults, and somewhere along the timeline of our lives we often forget to invite this playful, creative side of ourselves into our lives. It’s never to late to start your new creative journey!

1) Stress Reduction:

Engaging in creative activities like art, music, dancing or writing can act as a form of stress relief. Engaging in creative endeavors can be a mindful activity, helping you focus on the present moment and alleviate stress and anxiety.

2) Self-Expression and Emotional Release:

A creative wellness practice allows you to express yourself freely and helps you process your emotions in a healthy and constructive way, leading to emotional release and a deeper understanding of oneself.

3) Enhanced Cognitive Function:

Regular engagement in creative activities has been linked to improved cognitive function. Creative pursuits stimulate different areas of the brain, fostering neural connections and promoting cognitive flexibility, problem-solving skills, and memory retention.

4) Increased Confidence and Self-Esteem:

Accomplishing creative tasks, whether it's finishing a painting or designing a piece of jewelry, can boost self-confidence and self-esteem. As you explore and develop your creative skills, you gain a sense of accomplishment and pride in your abilities, leading to increased self-worth.

5) Community and Connection:

Participating in creative wellness activities involves joining communities of like-minded individuals. Whether it's attending art classes, joining a writing group, or participating in a performance, engaging in creative endeavors can foster meaningful connections with others, providing a sense of belonging and support
