Alrighty, this one's gonna be a quickie. Here are more paintings from my Painting Marathon extravaganza. I would have never imagined that I would have time to paint as many paintings as I have in the last couple of weeks. In the past, I always came up with excuses to start (or finish, for that matter) art projects.
I'm too busy. I'm too tired. I don't feel like setting everything up. Then I have to clean up my mess afterwards. I don't have enough paint. I can't afford to buy any canvases...blah, blah, blah.
That, my friends, would be my left-brain chatter. My logical mind, which is fear-based. Well, I bid adieu to excuses that keep me from picking up my paint brush. I feel SO refreshed and happy and inspired and relaxed and in the moment when I am painting...why would I want to deny myself that creative bliss?
How did I make it easy for myself?
I set up a specially designated spot for my painting marathon --- in the front room, where there are ginormous pane windows. The ambient lighting from the sun greets me with warmth in the morning and a sense of peace in the afternoon.
I basically have my supplies waiting for me, and make it a point to dabble in some paint first thing in the morning, as a creative exercise, with my breakfast. And then, after a long day of work, I use it as a way to wind down before the sun sets.
It's been a perfect match in heaven.
If you haven't yet seen them or know about the painting marathon, feel free to check out the first batch of paintings here: "Have you ever tried painting, marathon style?"
